A time for renewed vigor...
A very Happy New Year to all of you. Well...the resolutions have been made (and broken) and we once again pick up the baton and approach our work with renewed enthusiam...don't we? For starters, let's hope there's more action from 'the powers that be' rather than strategy this, focus group that.
Having said that, Action for Blind have got in quick with their latest 'scoping exercise' - this one looks at people's experience of contacting/visiting their GP - click here to view.
There is also a draft action plan for the prevention of avoidable blindness and visual
impairment which has been published on the WHO web site under Documentation
for the Executive Board. The document is available at the following link:

There's lot going on - will any 'innovative' services come about from the take over (oops sorry! the formation of an associate charity) of AFB by RNIB? Will the new NOS click here infiltrate the profession and produce a higher quality of staff?
At this time of year its always good to speculate on what lies ahead - will there be any significant changes to services? What technological advances will come onto the market? being realistic for a moment...will I have a job? The global recession will have an impact on services at some point.
We'd like to know what changes you expect and your hopes and fears for the coming year so drop us a line at info@rehabworker.co.uk
